El Segundo, CA - December 11, 2001 - R.E.D. - Representing
Entertainers & Developers, announced it has secured a development/publishing
deal for its client 4DRulers, Inc. with publisher Dreamcatcher
Interactive, for the futuristic first-person shooter, Gore.
4DRulers will complete development of single- and multi-player
versions of Gore for PC, with an anticipated release in the
second quarter of 2002.
4DRulers, a game studio based in Nebraska, has been independently
developing Gore and in April, 2001 asked R.E.D. to represent
them in securing a publisher. The two multi-player beta tests
had generated significant buzz in the gamer community, and
registered several hundred thousand downloads.
"We are very pleased to have secured this deal for the guys
at 4DRulers. They put their heart, soul and financial resources
into creating Gore, and introduced innovative features that
will take the FPS genre up to the next level." said R.E.D.'s
Jeff Brunner. "While several publishers expressed an interest
in acquiring publishing rights, Dreamcatcher was the best
match for our client."
"By asking us to represent them, they were essentially placing
the future of their company in our hands, and I'm proud we
were able to deliver for them," said Brunner.
Nebraska-based 4D Rulers was founded in 1997 by brothers
Joel, Rick and Nick Huenink, and has since tripled in size
to a team of developers obsessed with the game industry, who
eat and sleep games, generating an atmosphere of enthusiasm
to create a game made by gamers for gamers.
R.E.D. is the interactive game industry's leading representation
company. The firm assists talented interactive game developers
in securing development agreements with publishing companies,
and works with publishers to find the right teams to develop
their licenses.
