El Segundo, CA - April 26, 2001 - R.E.D. announced
it has signed a representation agreement with independent
game studio 4D Rulers. R.E.D. will seek a publisher for 4D
Rulers' innovative new first person shooter Gore, which was
described in Computer Games Online as "the thinking person's
FPS."
More than 500,000 people have downloaded the online multiplayer
demo (with) that was released on March 10 if this year. The
demo has three small levels and three characters. 4D Rulers
plans to have a finished game by the end of the year.
"4D Rulers is very excited to work with R.E.D. on finding
a publisher for Gore," said Joel Huenink, president and creative
director of 4D Rulers. "We were quite struck by their enthusiasm
and optimistic view of our potential to obtain a publishing
deal."
"We are proud to represent 4D Rulers," said R.E.D.'s Paul
Cunningham. "They've put their heart, soul and financial resources
into creating Gore, and introduced innovative features that
will take the FPS genre up to the next level."
The futuristic Gore is powered by the AMP engine, which 4D
Rulers developed in partnership with Texas-based Slam Software.
The AMP Game Design System includes a rendering engine, the
Wire Multiplayer Net Engine, editing package, and game code
support library, all designed for use under Windows 95, Windows
98, Windows NT, or Windows 2000.
