El Segundo, CA - May 30, 2000 - Mattel Interactive
announced its selection of Treyarch to develop Max Steel,
a third-person adventure video game based on the cartoon superhero.
Treyarch will develop Max Steel for the Sega Dreamcast
and PC for a scheduled release in Winter 2000.
"Max Steel is a great game character, a young, hi-tech
James Bond," said R.E.D.'s Paul D. Cunningham. "We are excited
to have helped secure the Max Steel development deal
for a talented game company like Treyarch."
Treyarch was founded in 1996 and has since grown from 4 employees
to more than 80. It has developed a wide variety of games
on various platforms, including Dreamcast, Playstation, Nintendo
64, PC, and soon to include Playstation2. Treyarch has developed
or is currently developing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater,
Triple Play 2000, Draconus, Die By The Sword,
Dragon's Blood, Olympic Hockey and Die By
The Sword: Limb From Limb expansion pack.
