El Segundo, CA - March 14, 2001 - R.E.D. has organized
a cross-section of industry veterans into a panel that will
examine the extent to which talented developers drive the
game development landscape now and in the future, and how
the representation and management of talent is evolving along
the lines of the entertainment industry.
The panel, entitled "The Power of Talent," offers viewpoints
from the game developer, publisher, talent representation
and entertainment industry perspectives. The panelists are:
John Tobias: A video game industry star and the president
and founder of independent game developer Studio Gigante,
a new development company that has recently secured a major
contract to develop an original project with a leading game
publisher.
Remi Racine: president of independent game developer
Artificial Mind & Movement, an established independent development
company that has established itself as a leading developer
of both licensed and original content games including The
Grinch, Bugs Bunny and Jersey Devil.
Dan Winters: vice president of Disney Interactive
and in charge of the development of dozens of entertainment
properties each year.
Paul Cunningham: founder and CEO of Interact, one
of the industry's leading interactive talent representation
companies, who has witnessed the change in attitude, demands
and success of video game talent.
Jeff Bacon: a Hollywood veteran and now partner in
a multi-media production company who can compare and contrast
the industries.
The panel is scheduled for Thursday, March 22 from 4:00 -
5:00 p.m., in Room A1 of the San Jose Convention Center. Members
of the media interested in attending need to register with
the Game Developers Conference prior to the event.
